COURSE
STATEMENT
In
the Design/Printmaking course, students will continue to explore the elements
and principles of design and their relationship to Graphic Arts. Students will
be given projects that relate to their everyday use of graphic design. Students
will learn to differentiate between a poor design and a strong design. Building
on their knowledge from Art Fundamentals, students will continue to experiment
and create unique and original designs that relate to their lives. Printmaking
will be introduced through a variety of hand printing methods. Using an
assortment of monoprint techniques, students will create professional looking
prints that are signed and numbered. Using linoleum or wood, students will also
learn how to print a short edition of prints.
